Loftia preview: is it worth buying?
Buy it if you want a paid cozy online island, you can play on Windows or an M2 Mac, and you accept Early Access on November 3, 2026. Wait if you need a finished 1.0, a phone build, or an Intel Mac. This is not a scored review of a live paid game.

The trailer shows floating islands, solar roofs and shared neighborhoods. It does not establish building feel, device performance or community quality. A hands-on Early Access review should identify its build, device, hours and date separately.
What the published material supports
The pitch is specific: a solarpunk MMO where you farm, craft, salvage, and build, online, without combat. The demo runs October 19–26, 2026, carries progress forward, and stops before Hanging Gardens. That is a real slice, not the whole map.
Patch #1, on October 21, fixed the kind of things a demo actually breaks: tool-wheel teaching, fragment merging, gamepad rebinding, and the Scrambled Coordinates drop rate. Those are ordinary Early Access signals. They are also evidence the team is patching during a public test, which helps a buyer assess how the public test is being maintained. This does not establish performance or building feel on your device.
Reasons to wait
Intel Macs are unsupported. Phones are unannounced. Switch is a 2027 year with no day. The US price is $29.99, or $24.89 for an undated launch discount, and Steam had not opened the price block yet on October 23.
If you want romance, an offline farm, or a free start, this is the wrong purchase. Palia and Heartopia are the free comparisons. Stardew is the cheap offline one.

The demo and trailer support the cozy online pitch. A scored verdict needs Early Access play, which has not started. I am not publishing a star rating.
Should I buy on day one?
Only if Early Access bugs are acceptable and your PC or Mac matches Steam’s list. The 1.0 date is not set.
Where are player reviews?
Steam reviews open when the store page leaves “coming soon.” Reddit threads are player opinion, not this page’s score.
